ORLANDO, FL. – Travelers looking to spend summer exploring new destinations rich with history and culture now have direct access to Tel Aviv, Israel, with all-new air service from EL AL Israel Airlines.
The connection will offer business and economy class service every Tuesday through August 27.
“As the most-visited destination in the United States, Orlando is honored to be added to the summer flight schedule for EL AL,” said Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “This service opens an entirely new world of travel possibilities for our passengers and we look forward to providing EL AL’s customers The Orlando Experience®.”
Greater Orlando Aviation Authority Board Chairman Domingo Sanchez, a longtime champion of connectivity and customer service at Orlando International Airport, welcomed the new air service during a kick-off event at the airport this morning.
“One goal of the Orlando International Airport is to make the world local with a variety of non-stop flights and strong connections to some of the most sought after destinations around the world,” said Sanchez. “This new EL AL flight is a critical component in that effort, creating a connection between the United States’ most-visited destination and a critical business hub in Israel.”
The air service creates a link between Central Florida’s high-tech business climate and Israel, a country named the fifth most innovative economy in the world in Bloomberg’s annual Innovation Index.
“I wanted to send a message from Florida that as you have those innovations and you want to bring some of these products to market and you need a foothold in the United States, that Florida is as good as you’re going to do,” said Gov. Ron DeSantis, commenting on the new service between Orlando and Tel Aviv.
Yoram Elgrabli, EL AL’s Vice President of North & Central America, said the airline currently has a thriving service out of Miami and hopes the Orlando service finds similar success. “People talk about the ocean that separates us and we at EL AL are humbled and proud to be the bridge between both countries,” Elgrabli said. “We will continue to work hard to bring much more traffic to Orlando.”
