WestJet Expands Summer Offerings at Orlando International Airport

ORLANDO, FL. – Just imagine, during the hot days of summer here in Florida, you can pick-up and take off for cooler points north of the border. Relaxing temperatures and an abundance of Canadian culture await your arrival.

WestJet is announcing its plans to make that mental image a reality this summer. WestJet is expanding its flight offerings from Orlando International to Calgary and to Vancouver.

“Canada is our second most traveled international destination,” says Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “WestJet’s decision to expand service to these desirable locations, reinforces our strong economic ties between these two regions and Central Florida.”

“This summer WestJet again enhanced our schedules to offer travelers more convenience and connectivity to well-loved vacation destinations and major business markets across Canada, the U.S. and beyond,” said Arved von zur Muehlen, WestJet Commercial Officer.

Starting this summer, WestJet will go from one flight per week, to two flights per week to Calgary while continuing to offer service throughout the summer instead of only winter service to Vancouver once weekly. More than 700,000 visitors travel from Canada to Orlando each year.
