ORLANDO, FL. – With an expected 6% increase in total travelers, the 14-day Thanksgiving holiday travel period promises to be another record-breaker at Orlando International Airport (MCO) with a total of 1.82 million passengers. AAA is predicting that the Orlando metro area will be the most popular Thanksgiving destination in the country. The busiest travel day at MCO will be Saturday, November 24th with more than 152 thousand passengers in the terminal.
“When passengers arrive at Orlando International Airport this holiday season they will see just how busy we have been over this past year, enhancing their overall airport experience,” says Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “From new artistic flooring and state-of-the-art ticket counters to enhanced wayfinding and expanded security checkpoints, we have been preparing for this extremely busy time of year and we are ready.”
