9/13/2013 - International Traffic in July Remains on Track for Record Year at Orlando International Airport

ORLANDO, FL. - More international visitors had the Orlando Experience in July at Orlando International Airport than the previous year. Nearly 363,000 international arrivals and departures represents a 4 percent increase over 2012 levels. Even with the good international developments, the news was more subdued for domestic travel. Domestic traffic was down by 3.7 percent in July.

Once again Southwest Airlines, Orlando International Airport's largest carrier, reduced its capacity by more than 71,000 seats for the month. While Southwest cut seats, other carriers at MCO including US Airways, Silver Airways, Gol and Copa increased seat capacity by more than 51,000 offsetting the Southwest reduction by over two-thirds.
