12/7/2012 - Orlando International Airport is Ready for the Holidays

ORLANDO, FL. – There’s a festive feeling in the air at Orlando International Airport (MCO). The spirit of the holiday season can be seen and heard throughout the airport’s Main Terminal as passengers and visitors will be treated to colorful decorations and live entertainment. Expressions of seasonal tidings are visible on banners along the Departure level roadways of both the A and B terminals. Inside the terminal building, walls are adorned with huge wreaths and the diversity of the holiday season is celebrated with displays commemorating Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanzaa.
The most dramatic decorations can be found on the third level at the Hyatt Hotel Atrium and West checkpoint areas. The atrium is highlighted by a 40 ft. Christmas tree that features 70,000 energy-efficient LED lights and two 25-foot companion trees dress up the Great Hall at the west end of the terminal. Both traditionally are meeting and photo opportunity points for arriving and departing families and friends at Orlando International Airport.
To showcase the arts, during peak travel times, local and cultural performances are scheduled to entertain and relax holiday travelers. Beginning December 10 through December 22, airport passengers, employees and visitors will be treated to performances by the Orlando Ballet, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Ensembles, The Dickens Carolers, Latin American guitarist Ravelli, Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker, Central Florida Community Arts/Legacy.

Have a Happy Holiday Season!
