ORLANDO, FL.- Orlando International Airport (MCO) recorded an increase in passenger traffic for the month of April. The April increase of 2.43 percent compares favorably with the latest aviation trends. According to Airports Council International (ACI) North American air travel was down 13 percent for the month of April.
April marks the fourth consecutive month this year where the total number of travelers was over 3 million (3,329,515) thanks in part to strong international numbers. International traffic increased 22.1 percent to 261,418 while domestic travel increased 1 percent to 3,068,097 passengers.
The April increase came despite a change in the Easter holiday travel patterns from the previous year. The Easter holiday was celebrated earlier last year and is normally a peak travel period. Year to date, through the month of April, traffic is up 6.4 percent at Orlando International.
Orlando International Airport is ranked as number two in the latest J.D. Power and Associates annual study of overall passenger satisfaction for large airports nationwide.
