Glossary of Terms

A-Side

The A-Side of the terminal is the north side of the main (landside) terminal building, where the ticket counters and baggage claim are located for airlines operating out of Airsides 1 and 2

AGT

The Automated Guided Transit system that connects the airside terminals to the main (landside) terminal, a journey of just 68 seconds!

Airside

Four airside terminal buildings are located around and connected to the main (landside) terminal building by the AGT system:
Airside 1 (where gates 1-29 are located)
Airside 2 (gates 100-129)
Airside 3 (gates 30-59)
Airside 4 (gates 60-99)

B-Side

The B-Side of the terminal is the south side of the main terminal building, where the ticket counters and baggage claim are located for airlines operating out of Airsides 3 and 4
CUTE Common User Terminal Equipment - a computer system provided to airlines by the airport which allows airline staff to access their own computer systems without having their own dedicated equipment, while allowing more flexible and efficient use of airport facilities

Deplaned

A term used to describe an arriving passenger (ie. getting off an aircraft)

Enplaned

A term used to describe a departing passenger (ie. getting on an aircraft)

FIDS

Flight Information Display System - the system that provides actual flight status/time information on our web site and on the display boards inside the terminal

Gates

Locations on the Airside Terminals at which aircraft park allowing passengers to enplane and deplane

GOAA

Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, the organization which manages Orlando International and Executive Airports

Landside

The Landside Terminal is the main passenger terminal which houses the airline ticket counters and baggage claim areas
Level 1 The "ground floor" of the main terminal where commercial ground transportation (rental cars, buses, out of town shuttles, etc.) operates
Level 2 The Arrivals level or Baggage Claim level of the main terminal. Passengers actually "arrive" on Level 3, but go down to Level 2 to claim checked baggage
Level 3 The Departures level or Ticketing level of the main terminal, where the check-in desks, security checkpoints, AGT (trains) to the Airside Terminals, and shops & restaurants are located

MCO

The official airport designator code for Orlando International Airport
MUFIDS Multi-User Flight Information Display System - the system that provides actual flight status/time information on our web site and on the display boards inside the terminal

OEA

An abbreviation for Orlando Executive Airport (ORL)

OIA

An abbreviation for Orlando International Airport (MCO)

ORL

The official airport designator code for Orlando Executive Airport

Satellite Parking

Also known as Park 'n Ride, satellite parking is located on airport property, but is not directly connected to the main terminal building, and so offers cheaper parking rates than the parking garages
Terminal A A term used to describe the A-side of the main (landside) passenger terminal (even though "A" and "B" are actually opposite sides of the same terminal building)
Terminal B A term used to describe the B-side of the main (landside) passenger terminal (even though "A" and "B" are actually opposite sides of the same terminal building)

Terminal Top Parking

A section of the parking garage which is accessible from both the "A" and "B" side parking garages, which is located on top of the main (landside) terminal building, offering the most convenient access to the terminal
